Sponza Palace
The Sponza Palace lies in the very centre of the historic old city of Dubrovnik and has always had an important role to play in Dubrovnik’s trade and literature. The palace was constructed in the 16th century according to plans by the architect Paskoje Miličević.
Orlando
You can’t wander the old city without bumping into Orlando, he’s the knight standing proudly and silently on a column in front of the St. Blaise Church. Orlando and his column have had a central position in Dubrovnik history, a meeting place, a flag bearer, a source of measurement and a symbol of freedom.
The Rector's Palace
Built in the 15th century the Rector's Palace was a symbol of Dubrovnik’s independence, the centre of politics and diplomacy as well as home to many rectors during their one-month mandate in the post. Externally, the Rector's Palace is one of the most beautiful palaces of Dubrovnik, with elements of late Gothic and Renaissance styles.
Dubrovnik Cathedral
The Dubrovnik Cathedral stands out for all to see, the huge doomed roof dominating the skyline for miles. Its brilliant white stone acting as a beacon to the faithful, its solid beauty forms a central part in Dubrovnik’s history.
St Blaise Church
Modest in height, but not in meaning, the Church of Saint Blaise is one of the cornerstones of life in Dubrovnik. The saint is said to have appeared in a vision and saved the city from an invasion by Venice.
