Dubrovnik has a long history with the sea and all things maritime. The city is well connected with regular ferry services to local islands and international destinations. There are daily, and in some cases hourly, services operating to nearby islands.
Getting to Dubrovnik by land
For the more independent traveller arriving in Dubrovnik by car there are a few regulations that you need to follow. The basic requirements for driving in the Republic of Croatia are a full and valid driver’s license, an insurance certificate and a green card that covers Croatia.
Parking in Dubrovnik
If you are travelling to Dubrovnik by car or if you’ve rented a car to explore the city then parking is one of the factors that you’ll need to consider. Parking around the city can be frustrating, especially in the summer months, and a guaranteed parking space is hard to find. If you have rented accommodation then don’t forget to ask if there is a parking space.
