Over 11 million tourists in 2011

The National Bureau of Statistics has released the final figures for Croatian tourism in 2011: Almost 11.5 million tourists visited Croatia in 2011, meaning an increase of 8 percent more tourists compared to 2010, a grand total of 11.45 million.

Tourists from 63 different countries arrived in Croatia and they accounted for 86.6 percent of all holidaymakers. In total 60.35 overnight stays were recorded; an increase of 7 percent compared to the year before. Just to prove that the country is on the upward turn, 9.92 million foreign guests spent their holidays in Croatia which is an increase of 9 percent with regards to 2010 and in total they generated 54.75 million overnight stays.
