Enclosed by impressive walls the terracotta roofs in contrast to the turquoise blue Adriatic is quite simply breathtaking. Since 1979 Dubrovnik has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site and as soon as you enter the city it’s easy to see why. Every stone in the city has its own tale to tell and every street offers a glimpse of history.

The ideal way get the full picture of the Old City of Dubrovnik is to look down on it from one of the hills surrounding it. The first stop on this tour takes you to an observation point high above the city and gives you the perfect opportunity to take some extraordinary photographs. This panorama is certainly one of the best in the region and gives you the impression that Dubrovnik is in the palm of your hand. As we drop down from the coastal road towards the city you will be greeted by the imposing walls that encompass the whole city and run unbroken for around two kilometres. Entering through one of the three gates into the city will leave you open mouthed in amazement. It is a step back in time to a city that has the feel of a living monument or museum, but is in fact a city that lives and breathes a city with almost four thousand inhabitants.

The main street, or the Stradun, runs as straight as an arrow through the heart of the Old City is also the main artery that bleeds life into the city. A plethora of side streets lead off to various treasure troves of cultural and architectural significance. If only the stones could talk what a story they’d have to tell. Together with our experienced local guide you will gain an understanding of not only the historical importance of the city but also of life inside the city walls.

This is a tour certain to fill your holiday photo album with unforgettable memories.
