A long weekend
It could be argues that three days isn’t long enough to see all the beauties that Dubrovnik has to offer. However you can dip your toes into the culture, the history and the sights of the city. Absolutely there are sights that shouldn’t be missed if you are only in Dubrovnik for three days. Here is a list of the “must-see” sights for three days:
City walls – take a walk around the famous Dubrovnik city walls. During the summer months it’s a good idea to go either early in the morning or later again in the evening. The walls are 1,940 metres long and there are many steps along the way so take some refreshments with you.
Lokrum – the romantic island of Lokrum is a short fifteen minute boat trip away from the old city centre. If you are here for a short break then catch the first boat to the island for a morning swim before coming back to the city for lunch.
Cable car – the best way to get your bearings of Dubrovnik is to see it from above. The three minute cable car ride to the top of the Srđ Mountain will offer the best views of the area, the ideal spot to fill your holiday album. There is a café/restaurant as well as a small souvenir shop.
Stradun – the heart of the old city and one of the photographed streets in the world. Stradun is the heart and soul of Dubrovnik and by just taking a leisurely stroll down the marbled stone will give you a peek into life in the city. Take the time to have a drink in one of the many cafés or buy a souvenir to remind you of your time in Dubrovnik.
